We were fortunate to be granted an author visit with Crystal Allen through Indiana Humanities and their Indiana Author Awards Program. She will be visiting us virtually Thursday, February 25. In person students will view it in their classrooms with teachers. Students who are virtual that day can see the times she's speaking to their grade level in Canvas and here ((10 o'clock 7th and 8th graders will hear the author; 11:30 5th graders will hear the author; and 1:30 6th graders will hear the author). They will be able to access a Zoom link in the Library's Canvas under Announcements at 9:30 on the day of her visit to join at their grade level time. Students can find out more details about her in Canvas! Books we ordered by her are on their way! Many are also available to borrow for free through Hoopla and the Hamilton East Public Library.

We are striving to do our part in supporting students and staff right now with anything ranging from technology help, accessing books/resources, curating resources, book talking, and more. Check out our updated Technology Tips page for some resources to help with virtual and hybrid learning.

We enjoy being a part of your student's journey while they are at HIJH and to help support them as readers, learners, and people in any way that we can. We strive to instill and help develop a love of reading in all students. We aim to provide your students with current and high interest resources that support their learning, needs, and interests. We welcome all students to utilize and borrow materials from the library. We will work with your students throughout the year by helping them find the right book for them, giving book talks, promoting reading, assisting them with their iPads, teaching them about educational technology, developing their research skills and resources, discussing digital citizenship, and more. We also provide students, teachers, and classes resources through the HIJH Makerspace.
