2 readers to air on Monday 9/23 #1 - It’s Ally week, Panthers! #2 - What’s Ally week? #1 – Ally week is a week set aside at the end of September by students and educators across the nation to have conversations on what people need from their allies. #2 – What is an ally? #1 – An ally is a person who stands up for and takes action for those they support or see being treated unfairly. #2 – How can I be an ally? #1 – One way would be to join or support one of our three new equity groups at HIJH, the Gay Straight Alliance, Black Student Union, and We the Change. Another way is to stand up for people who are being bullied or treated differently. #2 – Oh, wow, you’re right. We do need more students to help us make HIJH a welcoming place. #1 – The GSA will be preparing other announcements and plans for HIJH to recognize Ally Week! Stay tuned.
